The other side of the brave new data worldThe festival "My Behavioral Surplus" critically examines the social effects of digitalization and data capitalism.

The reflections of economist Shoshana Zuboff in her book "The Age of Surveillance Capitalism" serve as the inspiration to make the carefully hidden reverse side of the brave new data world visible in a playful, challenging and informative way at the interface of art and science.

In this sense, the title of the festival refers to a core concept of critical engagement with the subject matter: the so-called "behavioral surplus" - in short, data that can be used to calculate and predict our online behavior.

Critical perspectives from artists around the world
The collective ATOMOX, consisting of the young musician and curator Kay Zhang, the saxophonist and programmer db0 and the saxophonist Nikola Lutz, a founding member of the Stuttgart Collective for Current Music, has assembled a top-class international ensemble.–––Artists from various disciplines around the world will take a look at the flip side of the brave new world of data from a variety of perspectives and offer the audience a wide-ranging program. The spectrum ranges from sensual-aesthetic suggestions to inspiring instructions for action and strategies on how we can move more competently in the digital habitat.
