NIKOLA LUTZ

2 nocturnos

In the velvety embrace of nocturnal obscurity, the symphony of insects unfolds, a pulsating tapestry of sonic allure. Amidst the mesmerizing cadence of chirps and whispers, the double bass emerges as a sentient conversationalist, engaging in a nuanced dialogue with the murmurs, deciphering subtle variations in the auditory landscape. Amidst the myriad gestures that cascade through the ears, the double bass surfaces as both a familiar and alien voice, momentarily distinct before seamlessly melding back into the auditory mosaic. The piece is part of the work series MadMap, in which YonX explores traces of different times and events that are visibly or subliminally etched in places turning them into something unique. These encounters are solely conceived in situ, where the impracticality, inflexibility, and unportability of the setting become essential to the alchemy. Only by acknowledging this inherent condition can one attain a touch that wields a transformative potency. YonX unabashedly exposes themselves to this touch, birthing site-specific artworks that resonate with the essence of place.
